Intelligent shelves for reordering automatically – RFID technology of Würth Industrie Service proving its worth for more than 10 years

In 2008, the first pre-series models were tested for the customer projects in industrial Kanban and the solutions were deployed under the brand CPS^®RFID shortly thereafter. On 9th September 2021, the RFID system family as well as the intelligent shelf iSHELF^® of Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG celebrated the tenth anniversary.

1,000,000th bin picked up
Since 2016, the company has been already deploying a total of eight robots in the most modern logistics centre for industrial supply in Europe at Bad Mergentheim. In the beginning of August 2021, a milestone was beaten and the millionth bin was picked up by “robotic hand”.

iSCALE - The new scale system
Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. Kg is adding the innovative scale system iSCALE to its portfolio of fully-automated C-Parts solutions. iSCALE is a sensor-controlled scale, which is directly connected with the Kanban bin and is independently movable. As a result, it can be used flexibly in the industrial environment: at the assembly line, material storage, Kanban location or directly at the workplace. On the basis of the weight, the system notifies the requirements of production materials and other small parts digitally - from the customer’s point of use directly to the ERP system of Würth Industrie Service and ensures an exact replenishment. Because certainty is of utmost importance in the entire supply chain!
